Community Ventures Society has 2 Permanent Part Time positions available for a specialized resource in Coquitlam.
14 hrs/wk Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm
14 hrs/wk Saturday and Sunday 5pm-midnight
This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a youth. You will be working with a team of devoted staff with a common goal, well supported by CVS.
The individual you will be supporting loves outdoor activities and learning new things. He is non-verbal. He can become escalated during challenging situations but responds well to redirection.
Experience with behavioural supports/ behavioural intervention is required.
Compensation: $20.78 hourly to start
Your responsibilities in this position will include behavioural support, supporting and fostering independence, effective communication and community access.
- Experience with challenging behaviours, and working with children who have autism is required.
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training or the MANDT system is also an asset. You will receive extensive training on the unique needs of the individual you will be supporting.
A class 5 driver's license, clean driver's abstract, reliable vehicle and criminal record check are required along with current First Aid/CPR certificate.
